Yoga for Everyone

Friday Evening January 11 through Sunday Lunch January 13

Everyone experiences daily stress and low energy periods. Hatha Yoga is a practical way to relax, harmonize and renew. We will learn movements and postures coordinated with breathing to develop balance, flexibility and strength so we can move with ease and confidence through the day. In yoga, our intention is to cultivate physical fitness and also to cultivate mental clarity, centering and self-awareness. Integrating the mind and body, a sense of wellbeing and resiliency grows. We can develop healing patterns in our lives. The winter season is an 'auspicious' time for seeding new growth.

Interwoven in the yoga postures and breathing we will reflect on selected sutras (phrases) from Patanjali's Yoga Sutras - tha may offer us perspective and insight into our lives.

Newcomers and those who have previously studied yoga- all levels- are welcome.

Carolyn Kay Wheeler, RN, RYT, a longtime resident of Pumpkin Hollow, has taught yoga for 25 years integrating her skills as Therapeutic Touch practitioner, professional dancer and nurse into her yoga classes. For Carolyn it is important to find the essence of the practice - to adapt poses for the benefit of each person.
